Leggjabrjótur

I went on a 16km hike this weekend and it rained the entiiiire way. Regardless, the route was beautiful. The name is "Leggjabrjótur" which literally means "Leg break". Yes, the path is extremely rocky and you need to keep your eyes open the entire time and make sure where you step. However, when you take the time to stop and look at the scenery it is amazing! We walked from Thingvellir to Hvalfjord and it took us 5 hours. Basically we walked as fast as we could to get back into the warm, warm bus!

I didn't take any photos myself as I didn't want to get my camera wet. So, thanks to google, here are some shots of the route!

Oh how I wish the weather had been like this when we went....But as you can see the route is relatively flat. I think the highest point we walked was a little over 100m

And ofcourse I couldn't have gone without my trusted Meindl boots!
